Meet Coach Colton

Born and raised in Libertyville, Arian Colton has spent most of her life in Libertyville and most of her life on a volleyball court. Coach Colton currently is the Varisty Girls' Volleyball Coach at Grayslake Central High School.  In the past, she has coached Division 1 Collegiate Volleyball at Duquesne University, Varsity Girls at Vernon Hills & Round Lake High School, and Varsity through Freshman at Libertyville High School (boys and girls). Colton also played Division 1 Collegiate Volleyball at Loyola University of Chicago. While playing at Loyola, she was voted MCC Conference Player of the Year and was voted First Team All-Conference 2 years, Second Team All-Conference 1 year, and All-Freshman Team.  She served Loyola's team Captain for 3 years and lead her team to the first ever NCAA Tournament appearance for any Loyola women's sports team.  Currently she holds numerous top 5 records for Loyola Volleyball.  As a Libertyville Wildcat, Colton was named to the 1993 Illinois All-State volleyball team and captained the 1993 Libertyville Wildcat team to 36-0 regular season record. She was a 3 year varsity volleyball starter and the team captain at Libertyville High School.

With four young children now, Arian Colton was looking for a way to provide young children the opportunity to be exposed to volleyball while also make a positive impact on the sport that provided so much to her.  So VolleyCats was created.  The emphasis in VolleyCats is to teach young players proper volleyball technique in a positive, fun environment.  The skills being taught at VolleyCats mirror the skills being taught in current High School programs .  Some skills are modified to allow young athletes to achieve a level of success in order to foster a love of volleyball.
